Publication Ethics
LECTURE is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all forms of academic misconduct seriously. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all aspects of its editorial and peer review processes. All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical behavior and integrity.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, not plagiarized, and have not been published or submitted elsewhere. They must properly cite all sources and acknowledge contributions from others. All listed authors must have significantly contributed to the research and agree with the final version of the manuscript. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data, the integrity of their research, and compliance with ethical standards, including obtaining informed consent where required. If an error is discovered after publication, authors must notify the editors promptly to request a correction or retraction.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process. Editorial decisions are made solely based on the academic merit and relevance of the submission to the journal’s scope. Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and relevant editorial staff. Editors must take appropriate actions when ethical complaints arise and are expected to act without discrimination or bias.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality of the journal. They must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback based on academic merit. Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest and refrain from reviewing manuscripts where such conflicts exist. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times, and reviewers must not use any unpublished information from a manuscript for personal advantage.
4. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct
Plagiarism in any form constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or duplicate publication will be investigated and may be rejected, retracted, or corrected depending on the findings. The journal uses Plagiarism Checker X to detect similarities and verify originality before peer review.
5. Conflict of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. Editors will take these disclosures into account when making editorial decisions and may reject or reassign manuscripts as necessary to ensure objectivity.
6. Corrections and Retractions
In cases where errors, misconduct, or ethical breaches are identified post-publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern. These actions will be taken transparently, with notifications to all affected parties, and clearly documented on the journal website.
By submitting to LECTURE, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Publication Ethics statement. For further questions or concerns, please contact the editorial team at lecturejournal@ucb.ac.id.
