The names, email addresses, affiliations, and other personal data entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of Caring & Sharing Nursing Journal (CSNJ) and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party, except as described in this statement.

1) What data we collect

CSNJ may collect and store the following information for journal operations:

  • Account data: name, email, username, role (author/reviewer/editor/reader)

  • Professional information: affiliation, country, ORCID (if provided)

  • Manuscript and peer review data: submitted files, metadata, correspondence, reviewer reports, editorial decisions

  • Technical data: IP address, browser/device information, and usage logs for security and system administration

2) Why we use personal data

Personal data are used only to support journal activities, including:

  • manuscript submission, peer review, editorial processing, and publication

  • communication with authors, reviewers, and editors

  • indexing and dissemination of published article metadata (e.g., title, authors, affiliations, abstract, keywords, references)

  • maintaining the integrity, security, and performance of the journal platform

3) What we share publicly

For published articles, CSNJ may publicly display and distribute scholarly metadata such as:

  • author names, affiliations, corresponding author contact (as chosen by authors), ORCID (if provided)

  • article title, abstract, keywords, and citation information

4) Data sharing with third parties

CSNJ does not sell personal data. Limited data may be shared only when necessary for:

  • platform hosting/maintenance and security services

  • DOI registration and metadata distribution (if applicable)

  • indexing/archiving services and repositories (as relevant to journal dissemination)
    All such sharing is limited to operational needs.

5) Data retention

CSNJ retains personal and manuscript-related data as needed to:

  • operate the journal and maintain publication records

  • support the scholarly record and audit trail of peer review and editorial decisions
    When accounts are inactive, data may be retained for archival and integrity purposes, subject to applicable policies and regulations.

6) User rights and choices

Users may request to:

  • update/correct their profile information

  • deactivate their account (subject to retention obligations for published records and editorial audit trails)
    Requests can be submitted to the journal’s editorial office.

7) Security

CSNJ applies reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
