Authorship and Contributorship Policy

JUKANTI (Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi) is committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in authorship and contributorship. Authorship should accurately reflect the individuals who have made substantial contributions to the submitted manuscript.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to one or more of the following:

  • conception or design of the study;
  • data collection, system development, experiment, or implementation;
  • data analysis or interpretation;
  • drafting the manuscript;
  • critically revising the manuscript for important intellectual content;
  • approving the final version of the manuscript;
  • accepting responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission to JUKANTI.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal during the submission, peer review, copyediting, production, and post-publication process.

The corresponding author must ensure that:

  • all authors meet the authorship criteria;
  • all authors approve the submitted version of the manuscript;
  • all author names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs, when available, are accurate;
  • all authors agree with the order of authorship;
  • all authors are informed of editorial decisions and revision requests.

Contributorship

Individuals who contribute to the research or manuscript but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately in the acknowledgment section.

Such contributions may include:

  • technical assistance;
  • language editing;
  • administrative support;
  • data collection assistance;
  • funding support;
  • institutional permission or access support.

Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be submitted in writing to the editorial office.

The request must include:

  • a clear explanation for the proposed change;
  • written approval from all authors, including the author being added or removed;
  • confirmation that the revised authorship accurately reflects the contributions made.

The editorial team may reject authorship changes that are not properly justified or not approved by all authors.

Unacceptable Authorship Practices

JUKANTI does not accept unethical authorship practices, including:

  • Guest authorship: listing individuals who did not make a substantial contribution;
  • Gift authorship: adding individuals as a courtesy or because of status, position, or relationship;
  • Ghost authorship: excluding individuals who made substantial contributions;
  • Honorary authorship: listing individuals only because of seniority, authority, or institutional position.

Author Responsibility

All authors are responsible for the integrity, originality, and accuracy of the submitted manuscript. Authors must ensure that the work does not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or unethical reuse of previous work.

Disputes

Authorship disputes should be resolved by the authors before submission whenever possible. If a dispute arises during the editorial process, JUKANTI may suspend the processing of the manuscript until the dispute is resolved by the authors or their institution.

Final Statement

JUKANTI encourages transparent and responsible authorship practices to ensure that credit is given fairly and accountability is maintained throughout the publication process.
