Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
JUKANTI (Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal may issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary to address errors, ethical concerns, or publication misconduct in published articles.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when an article contains an honest error that does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the article.
Corrections may be published for errors such as:
- incorrect author information;
- incorrect affiliation;
- typographical or formatting errors that affect meaning;
- errors in tables, figures, data labels, or references;
- minor methodological or reporting errors that do not change the main conclusions.
The correction notice will be linked to the original article and will clearly explain the corrected information.
Retractions
A retraction may be issued when the findings or integrity of a published article are seriously compromised.
Retractions may occur when there is evidence of:
- plagiarism;
- duplicate or redundant publication;
- data fabrication or falsification;
- unethical research practices;
- serious errors that invalidate the findings;
- manipulated images, tables, or data;
- undisclosed conflict of interest that affects the validity of the article;
- authorship misconduct;
- publication without proper permission or ethical approval when required.
The retraction notice will remain publicly available and will be linked to the original article. The original article may remain accessible for the scholarly record, but it will be clearly marked as retracted.
Expressions of Concern
An expression of concern may be issued when serious questions are raised about a published article, but the investigation is not yet complete or the evidence is inconclusive.
Expressions of concern may be used when:
- there is a pending investigation into possible misconduct;
- there are unresolved concerns about data accuracy or research ethics;
- the authors’ institution or relevant authority is conducting an investigation;
- the editorial team requires additional time or evidence before making a final decision.
The expression of concern will be linked to the article and updated when the investigation is completed.
Investigation Process
When a potential error or ethical concern is reported, the editorial team will review the case carefully. The Editor-in-Chief may consult the editorial board, reviewers, authors, institutions, or external experts when necessary.
Authors will be given an opportunity to respond to allegations or concerns. Decisions regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be based on available evidence, publication ethics principles, and the need to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Final Statement
JUKANTI handles corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern in a transparent, fair, and responsible manner. The journal is committed to correcting the scholarly record when necessary.
