Open Access Policy

The Journal of Innovative Technologies in Learning and Education (J-ITLE) provides immediate open access to all published content. All articles are freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription, embargo period, or registration requirement.

J-ITLE believes that freely available research supports the global exchange of knowledge and contributes to the advancement of science, education, technology, and scholarly communication.


Free and Unrestricted Access

All articles published in J-ITLE are available online to all users anywhere in the world, free of charge.

Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, provided that proper attribution is given to the original authors and source.

The journal does not require users to register, subscribe, or pay any fee to access published articles.


Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work without restriction.

By submitting and publishing their articles in J-ITLE, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and agree that their articles will be published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, users are allowed to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose;
  • Use commercially — use the material for academic, educational, research, and commercial purposes;

provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the material are indicated.

Author Fees

J-ITLE does not charge any article submission fees or article processing charges.

Authors are not required to pay any fees at any stage of the publication process, including:

  • Submission fees;
  • Article Processing Charges;
  • Peer-review fees;
  • Editorial processing fees;
  • Copyediting fees;
  • Layout editing fees;
  • Proofreading fees;
  • Publication fees;
  • DOI registration fees;
  • Hosting fees.

All publication processes in J-ITLE are free of charge for authors.


Other Author-Side Charges

J-ITLE does not charge any additional author-side fees, including page charges, color charges, figure charges, table charges, language editing fees, fast-track review fees, membership fees, article withdrawal fees, or other supplementary publication-related fees.

There are no hidden charges imposed on authors.


Future Fee Policy

At present, J-ITLE applies a zero-fee publication model.

If any author-side fees are introduced in the future, the journal will update this policy transparently before implementation. Any future fee policy will clearly describe the type of fee, amount, payment stage, waiver policy, discount policy, and eligibility criteria.

Author fees, if introduced in the future, will not influence editorial decisions, peer-review results, acceptance decisions, or publication outcomes.


Archiving and Digital Preservation

J-ITLE is committed to ensuring long-term digital preservation and continued access to all published content.

The journal preserves its published articles through the Open Journal Systems platform and institutional digital storage managed by the publisher, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Citra Bangsa, Indonesia.

The journal also supports metadata dissemination and discoverability through DOI registration, indexing services, academic databases, and metadata harvesting platforms when available.

J-ITLE will continuously improve its digital preservation strategy by participating in trusted preservation networks or institutional repositories when such services become available.


Repository and Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted to deposit and share all versions of their articles without embargo, including:

  • Submitted manuscript;
  • Accepted manuscript;
  • Published version / Version of Record.

Authors may deposit their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, departmental websites, learning management systems, academic networks, and other scholarly platforms.

When depositing or sharing their articles, authors are encouraged to provide proper citation to the original publication in J-ITLE, including the article DOI or URL when available.


Repository and Third-Party Reuse Policy

All published articles may be stored, harvested, indexed, crawled, and reused by repositories, indexing services, libraries, databases, search engines, and other third-party platforms in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Third parties are allowed to use article metadata and full-text content for indexing, preservation, discovery, text and data mining, and other lawful academic or informational purposes, provided that proper attribution is given.


Revenue Sources

J-ITLE does not receive income from article processing charges, submission fees, publication fees, or other author-side charges.

The journal is supported by the publisher and institutional resources of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Citra Bangsa, Indonesia.

Any operational support, sponsorship, institutional subsidy, technical support, or other non-author revenue source does not influence editorial decisions, peer-review processes, acceptance decisions, or publication outcomes.


Advertising Policy

J-ITLE maintains a clear advertising policy to ensure transparency, editorial independence, and the integrity of published content.

All advertisements must comply with the following principles:

  • Relevance: Advertisements must relate to education, educational technology, learning innovation, academic development, research, scholarly communication, or other relevant academic fields.
  • Ethical Standards: Advertisements must not contain false, misleading, discriminatory, offensive, or unethical claims.
  • Separation: Advertisements must be clearly separated from editorial content and must not be presented in a way that could be confused with peer-reviewed articles, editorials, or journal policies.
  • Editorial Independence: Advertising does not influence editorial decisions, peer-review processes, reviewer selection, acceptance decisions, publication outcomes, or article visibility.
  • Approval: All advertisements are subject to editorial review and may be rejected at the discretion of the editorial team.
  • Transparency: The presence of advertisements does not imply endorsement by J-ITLE, the editorial board, or the publisher.

Any advertising revenue, if accepted, will be used solely to support the journal’s operational sustainability and its commitment to free and open access publishing.


Editorial Independence Statement

J-ITLE maintains full editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and contribution of the manuscript to the field of innovative technologies in learning and education.

Editorial decisions are not influenced by:

  • Author nationality;
  • Institutional affiliation;
  • Religion;
  • Gender;
  • Political views;
  • Personal relationships;
  • Financial considerations;
  • Advertising;
  • Sponsorship;
  • Institutional interests;
  • Potential citation impact.

All manuscripts are processed according to the journal’s peer-review and editorial policies.
