Complaints and Appeals
JUKANTI (Jurnal Pendidikan Teknologi Informasi) is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and accountable editorial process. Authors, reviewers, readers, or other parties may submit complaints or appeals regarding editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, editorial procedures, or published content.
Complaints
Complaints may relate to:
- editorial procedures;
- peer-review process;
- publication ethics;
- conflicts of interest;
- delays in editorial handling;
- published content;
- correction, retraction, or expression of concern;
- other matters related to journal management and publication.
Complaints must be submitted in writing to the JUKANTI editorial office with a clear explanation of the issue, supporting evidence when available, and the identity and contact information of the complainant.
Appeals
Authors may submit an appeal if they believe that an editorial decision was based on misunderstanding, procedural error, or insufficient consideration of the manuscript’s scholarly merit.
Appeals must provide clear reasons and, where appropriate, evidence or clarification related to the manuscript. Appeals that only express disagreement with reviewer comments or editorial decisions without supporting arguments may not be considered.
Handling Process
All complaints and appeals will be reviewed objectively by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned member of the editorial team. When necessary, the Editor-in-Chief may consult the editorial board, reviewers, authors, institutions, or external experts.
The editorial team will evaluate the complaint or appeal based on available evidence, journal policies, publication ethics principles, and the need to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
Confidentiality and Fairness
JUKANTI handles complaints and appeals confidentially, fairly, and without retaliation. The identity of complainants and involved parties will be protected as far as possible, except when disclosure is required for investigation, editorial action, or legal obligations.
Outcome
Possible outcomes of complaints or appeals may include:
- explanation of the editorial decision or process;
- reconsideration of the manuscript;
- assignment of additional reviewer;
- correction of editorial or administrative errors;
- publication of correction, retraction, or expression of concern;
- rejection of the complaint or appeal if it is unsupported or outside the journal’s scope of responsibility.
