Semakin banyaknya aktivitas penggunaan telepon genggam bagi anak sekolah terutama anak Sekolah Dasar dan Sekolah Menengah Pertama dibutuhkan sebuah pegangan aplikasi yang bisa membuat anak-anak senang dalam belajar dan menghafal doa-doa Islam. Terobosan terbaru pada smartphone, ditandai dengan munculnya suatu Sistem Operasi Android. Android merupakan platform perangkat lunak untuk peranti bergerak (mobile device) yang didukung oleh Google OS. Android menggunakan versi modifikasi dari kernel Linux yang mampu didistribusikan secara terbuka (open source). Hal ini memungkinkan bagi para pengembang untuk mengatur, memodifikasi, dan membuat aplikasi sendiri (Safaat, 2012:2).Pembuatan aplikasi doa-doa islam yang berbasis mobile teknologi android merupakan sebuah perancangan aplikasi yang diterapkan pada smartphone android, yang berguna bagi pengguna smartphone android untuk mempermudah mempelajari doa-doa islam yang bersumber pada Alquran dan Hadits . Oleh karena itu, sebuah perancangan aplikasi tersebut diharapkan dapat digunakan oleh pengguna (user) serta akan memudahkan dalam mengakses ilmu pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan tanpa harus bingung mencari atau membeli buku dengan mengeluarkan biaya dan waktu.
