APLIKASI TEXT TO SPEECH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS BAGI SISWA DISABILITAS

Kondisi berkelainan merupakan hidup dengan keterbatasan fisik, mental, emosi-sosial, dan psikologi abnormal. Kondisi berkelainan tersebut dapat berupa tuli atau bisu, buta, IQ rendah, lambat berbicara, emosional sosial, berlainan sendi dan lain sebagainya. Anak-anak yang termasuk dalam kondisi ini disebut anak berkebutuhan khusus/ disabilitas. Menurut data BPS dari tahun 2005 sampai 2007 jumlah anak berkebutuhan khusus meningkat dari 4,2 juta sampai 8,3 juta di Indonesia. SLB Asuhan Kasih Kupang merupakan sekolah yang menyelenggarakan pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus. Di sekolah ini ditemukan masalah siswa kelas Vll dan Vlll rendah pemahaman terhadap mata pelajaran bahasa inggris. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis peningkatan pemahaman belajar dengan penerapan media audio software Text to Speech pada mata pelajaran bahasa inggris untuk siswa disabilitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode regresi. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh dua variabel atau lebih. Dengan jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengujian hipotesis dengan analisis regresi meningkat secara positif dengan persamaan Y ̂= 27,99243+0,706053X. Dengan hasil tes pemahaman bahasa inggris meningkat 74,3% serta tingkat hubungan korelasi atau R-Square linearitas ialah 0,485 cukup kuat. Kesimpulan penerapan solusi penggunaan Text to Speech terhadap peningkatan pemahaman belajar bahasa inggris berpengaruh positif serta menunjukkan peningkatan.
